My Development Journey
I started learning how coding and creating games work by taking the CISGAME-403 class at Chaffey College, which covers the basics of learning to code games with Python and Pygame. These classes helped me teach the basic fundamentals of how coding works to create games, particularly when it comes to the creation of video games. I also took CISGAME-420, where I learned the process of planning, creating, and publishing web and mobile games. These classes taught me the fundamentals of game development, including planning, prototyping, testing, refining, and publishing. The first game I created to publish on this website called itch.io is a strategic map clicking game called American Territory Conqueror, where the player chooses a place to start, gathers resources, and builds up their territory's important features, which they use to conquer more territories to win the game. This game was basic in perspective because it was my first time creating a game and publishing it by myself. Those two classes helped me understand game development and how games gain popularity and monetization.
